Why don't penguins live near the equator?

Great question! This term we're going to find out the answer. 

We are going looking at globes and maps to discover the names of all of the continents on planet Earth and using our new knowledge of the equator and the poles to enquire about which countries are hot and which are cold.

Once we've figured this out we will consider what life could be like in these different parts of the world and how do people and animals adapt to living there.

In play and learn, we will be spending a lot of time in the 'I Wonder' room looking at globes, weather, maps and animals! I wonder what you can find out?
