Fundamental British Values
The exploration of fundamental British values is considered at the heart of our school’s mission and purpose. Many aspects of life at Grosvenor Park successfully prepare our children to live in modern Britain. Assembly themes, times for reflection, participation in the democratic process and the impact of the ‘society’ aspects of our curriculum, together with our approach to 'Personal, Social and Health Education' develop our children’s understanding and tolerance of other cultures.
Our Curriculum's "Personal Goals" underpin those individual qualities and learning dispositions we believe children will find essential in the 21st Century. Personal Goals help to develop those qualities that will enable children to be at ease with the continually changing context of their lives. Opportunities to experience and practice these are built into the learning tasks within each lesson. There are 8 Personal Goals, representing important Fundamental British Values :
adaptability | we can do things in different ways |
communication | we can share our learning with others |
co-operation | we can learn and play together successfully |
enquiry | we try to find out more |
morality | we try and make the right decisions |
resilience | we can stick with a task |
respect | we care for others, ourselves and accept differences |
thoughtfulness | we can think about our learning |
