Grosvenor Park Primary School

Our School Leaders

Our school operates a leadership structure of a Headteacher who is supported by four able Senior Leaders. Additionally, many of our teachers undertake a 'Subject' Leader role (details below).

Jordan Fern

Headteacher

Mr Fern is our Headteacher.

Hello and welcome to our beautiful school. My name is Mr Fern and I have been part of the Grosvenor park family for nine years. I must admit that time has flown by; I think this is because of the amazing children that walk through our doors every single day – they never fail to put a smile upon my face! You will often find me working on every aspect of school life to truly ‘MAKE a DIFFERENCE’ to every member of our school family.

Some highlights for me are: our London and Winmarleigh residential trips, such fantastic experiences where children really develop their independence and thrive off the learning opportunities presented; the wealth of clubs and sporting competitions on offer to all of our children, ranging from football to pottery; the rich Curriculum equipping our children to become lifelong learners and lastly, the unity and togetherness our school shows in every situation.

Emma Price

Deputy Headteacher

Mrs Price is our Deputy Headteacher.

Hello I have worked at our school for 15 years. It has been a great journey and the time has whizzed by. During this time, I feel lucky to have had many roles within school and worked across all our key stages. We have a wonderful school family where everyone strives to make a difference to themselves, others and the world around them. It's so important to us all that everyone in our school family feels safe and loved.

I am passionate about the benefits of play for all children (and adults) and try to encourages this at every opportunity! We believe that learning across the curriculum can be enhanced and understood on a deeper level when children are fully invested in that learning and play is often a great vehicle for this, plus it fills our days with smiles and fun!

I love to be outside both at school and at home. Whether that be playing in the mud kitchen in school or kayaking and walking with my family and dog at the weekends.

John Wilson

Assistant Headteacher (SENDCo)

Mr Wilson is our school's SENDCo

Since qualifying over a quarter of a century ago, he has only taken a one year break from our school family to help out with a small rural school. He is drawn to the Grosvenor Park family because they are a supportive, caring group who work together to make a difference in each others' lives.

He likes nothing better than to encourage the people that he works with to be resilient learners and to challenge themselves to achieve their best.

All of the work that school has undertaken to achieve three Green Flag awards has inspired Mr Wilson to reduce his carbon footprint by running or cycling to school most days.

At home, Mr Wilson loves spending time with his family, just being together and creating happy memories.

Laura Martin

Assistant Headteacher (Upper School Lead)

Mrs Martin has worked at our school for 7 years in lots of different classes in Key Stage 2.

One of Mrs Martin's favourite things about school is all of the clubs and competitions that we get involved with. When the bell goes at the end of the day, Mrs Martin is often involved in running sports clubs like netball or gymnastics. If you can't find her there, she could be stood on the sidelines (in rain or shine) cheering on Team Grosvenor Park at which ever amazing competition we are attending.

As well as the clubs, Mrs Martin loves all of the trips that we go on and is always first to sign up for the exciting residentials to Winmarleigh Hall and London!

Outside of school, Mrs Martin is a big Formula One fan - her weekends often involve watching the race with her family.

Rebecca Walton

Assistant Headteacher

Miss Walton graduated as a teacher in 2016. She worked as a supply teacher across Lancaster and Morecambe before joining Ellel St John’s CofE Primary School as a class teacher. Whilst at Ellel, she taught across KS1 and KS2. She is thrilled to have the opportunity to join Grosvenor Park on secondment for a year, in Class 9, and is eager to join the team. She hopes that the opportunity will help develop her leadership skills and provide her with valuable experience.

Miss Walton is passionate about ensuring the best outcomes for all children and strives to ensure that every child feels valued, important and cared for in school. She is looking forward to getting to know every child, their families and the school staff at Grosvenor. From what she has seen so far, it is a very special place and Miss Walton cannot wait to get involved with all the amazing activities and opportunities available for the children.

During her free time, Miss Walton thoroughly enjoys spending time with her family. She is very lucky to live next door to her sister, so they often spends their evenings and weekends together.
