We are delighted to be working with your children in The N.E.S.T. Our team is Mrs Helliwell, Miss Butterworth, Mrs Graseley and Mrs McGurk, and we are looking forward to making The N.E.S.T. a happy, nurturing and exciting place for every child to learn, grow and thrive.

Meet Mrs McGurk

Mrs McGurk is delighted to be supported by a wonderful team of Teaching Assistants as she begins her exciting new role as Specialist Teacher within The N.E.S.T.

With a passion for Early Years and Special Educational Needs, Mrs McGurk is excited to bring these two areas together and create a learning environment where every child feels understood, valued and celebrated. After almost 20 years at Grosvenor Park, she continues to be driven by her commitment to making a difference and is excited to see where this new chapter — and this very special class — will take her.

Mrs McGurk believes that children learn best when they feel safe, happy and ready to engage, and she is passionate about building strong relationships with children and families, celebrating individual strengths and helping every child reach their potential.

A little bit about Mrs McGurk...

When she's not in The N.E.S.T., Mrs McGurk loves spending time with her family and friends. She particularly enjoys walking in the Lake District, holidaying in France and going to the gym with her husband.

Her children certainly keep her busy, but when she gets some quieter time, you'll usually find her relaxing with her Kindle — preferably followed by an early night! 📚✨

She is very excited to begin this new journey with The N.E.S.T. and can't wait to see all of the wonderful things our children will achieve together.

Meet the Wonderful Team Behind The NEST 🌟

Our children in The NEST are incredibly lucky to be supported by a fantastic team of dedicated staff who bring warmth, energy and plenty of fun to every school day.

Ms Butterworth (HLTA), Mrs Helliwell (TA) and Mrs Graseley (TA) work closely with our children, providing individualised support, working 1:1 and in small groups to help every child feel safe, valued, understood and ready to learn.

Over time, our children and staff have developed secure, trusting and positive relationships. These relationships are at the heart of The NEST and help our children to feel confident, settled and able to thrive. Our support staff go above and beyond every day to celebrate each child's individuality, recognise their strengths and provide the support they need to succeed.

Between them, our team bring a wealth of experience in supporting children with additional needs, alongside a wonderful range of skills, interests and life experiences. They bring creativity, patience, humour and enthusiasm into the classroom, helping to make learning meaningful, engaging and fun.

Most importantly, our team know that every child is different. They take the time to understand each child's communication, interests, strengths and individual needs, ensuring that every child in The NEST is given the opportunity to belong, learn, grow and shine. 💙
