English
In English this term, Year 3 and 4 will be reading and responding to ‘The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe’ by C.S. Lewis.
The children will have the opportunity to explore this classic piece of fantasy fiction. Throughout the unit, the children will write a letter, character description and make links to the wider curriculum when writing a non-chronological report. Our learning will start with poetry. 'My Shadow’ by Robert Louis Stevenson, is rich in vocabulary and so children can read around to work out word meanings and add new words to their vocabulary.
Spelling continues to be a huge focus in MP2, children will have a 15 minute spelling lesson every day. We will be looking specifically at words from the Year 3 and 4 Statutory Spelling list. We appreciate any support we get at home in practising these spellings and working towards earning our spelling badges.
