Theme - How could Hitler convince a nation like Germany follow him to war?
What will we be learning?
During the first half of the Summer term Classes 9, 10 and 11 will be learning all about the causes and the effects of the outbreak of World War Two. We will be analysing, asking questions and drawing conclusions about the past from both primary and secondary sources whilst also developing our understanding of bias by exploring the use of propaganda.
The children will develop their independence and research skills to find out about key events of the war such as the attack on Pearl Harbour, Kristallnacht, Kindertransport and the Battle of Britain.
We will also explore the admirable dedication and sacrifice of the British population during wartime and the impact this had, before designing, making and evaluating our very own Anderson shelters! Keep an eye out to see some pictures of our fabulous learning!
