Monday - Session 1
Monday Phonics - sh
Mrs McGurk's Phonics Zoom
Last week you were asked to discuss your Christmas traditions past and present. This week we are sticking with the "past" theme. You are going to thinking about how have you changed since being a baby. What can you do now that you couldn't as a baby? What did you need as a baby to grow? How have you changed?
Ask your grown ups to show you some baby photographs and discuss what you were like as a baby. Did you have a favourite toy? Were you good at sleeping? What colour was your hair? What was your favourite book?
Physical Development - Outdoors
Physical development involves providing opportunities for young children to be active and interactive; and to develop their co-ordination, control, and movement. Children must also be helped to understand the importance of physical activity, and to make healthy choices in relation to food. We will be providing you with some ideas to keep your child active at home.
Practise some gross motor skills outdoors, you could play hopscotch which will help develop balance and co-ordination. If you haven't got any chalk, you may be able to use a stone to draw the board or just practice jumping from both feet to one foot. Use your arms to help propel you forward and keep you balanced. Remember to look after your knees, always bend them on landing. Can you stay balanced? Or are you wobbly?
